A traditional Japanese grater designed to create a light, airy texture.
The “onioroshi” features sharp, jagged teeth inspired by the fangs of an oni (demon). This unique structure allows ingredients to be grated coarsely while incorporating air, resulting in a crisp, fluffy texture.
Unlike fine graters, the onioroshi helps preserve dietary fiber and nutrients in their natural form, enhancing the original flavor of the ingredients. It is especially ideal for daikon radish and carrots, but can also be used with a variety of other foods.
Perfect for a wide range of dishes—from salad dressings and hot pot to noodle toppings, rice bowls, and hamburger steak garnishes. A versatile tool for year-round use.
How to Use
Rather than moving back and forth, pull the ingredient downward in one direction toward you. Hold the grater at approximately a 45-degree angle, stabilize it, and move slightly side to side for smooth use.
